Ann Marie and Knight both love watching the Olympics, specifically synchronized diving. They stand on the ends of the couch, hands pressed together and yell: 1 – 2 – 3 – Go! Did I mention how cute it is to watch? It is….
I am sure my kids will be the next dynamic duo! I can picture it now, the 2024 Olympics, Knight and Ann Marie up on the platform, me in the audience peeking through my fingers, afraid to watch. Together they would say: Ready, 1 – 2 – 3 – Go! Then in unison they will gracefully jump, twist and dive into the pool.
Funny to imagine what your children will become when they grow. When you see great Olympian athletes its easy to place your child in that position and think how proud you would be. Truth is though, I am very proud of my children/adult children. For me it has been the honor of my life to hug them, kiss their boo boo’s, encourage them when they did not have the courage for themselves, to watch them navigate through life’s ups and downs, and to see who they become as individuals.
After my great Olympic fantasy Knight says to me:
Knight: Mommy, we love watching the Olympics.
Me: Yes we do, it is very exciting to see who will win.
Knight: And our other favorite shows are motorcycle crashes, racing car crashes, BMX bike crashes and monster truck crashes.
Pretty sure Knight has a different idea for his life plan – I appears to end with the word CRASHES. I think I will do a lot of praying.
